Apeks XTX50 Regulator
The XTX50 regulator can be converted from a right handed hose configuration (as supplied from the APEKS factory in the standard) to a left handed one. This feature is known as the Reversible Venturi System (RVS). Changing the regulator to a left handed configuration is both quick and simple and can be performed by any APEKS Authorised Service Technician.
The XTX50 regulator incorporates the new feature of Diver Changeable Exhausts system (DCE). This system gives the diver the ability to change from a small exhaust tee to a large exhaust tee. This gives the user a choice of the wider exhaust tee for minimal bubble interference (essential for underwater photography) and the narrow exhaust tee for a smaller compact comfortable regulator (ideal for use as an octopus regulator).
The XTX50 regulator incorporates a new two-shot high strength plastic front cover, improving the durability of the most vulnerable part of the demand valve.
The new ergonomic Venturi lever of the XTX50 has been designed to reduce the amount of grit ingress.
A new swivel hose connection is available at an extra cost. This allows the demand valve end of the hose connection to rotate and pivot, providing a more comfortable fit.
A new silicone exhaust valve has been used on the XTX50 regulator improving breathing performance.
Benefits of a Swivel Connection:
Improved mouthpiece comfort as a standard hose tends to push your regulator out of your mouth due to hose stiffness when cold and under pressure. Allows you to rotate your head more easily during a dive. Greater general freedom of movement as this is less restrictive than a standard hose. Reduces jaw fatigue increasing the enjoyment of your dive. Beautifully engineered, smooth swivel second stage connection allows multi-directional movement. Apeks regulators featuring the swivel connection have been tested under EN250 criteria and the results confirm no loss of performance. The Apeks XTX200 and XTX Tungsten regulators are available in standard version or with the swivel connection. A swivel connection hose is also available as an independent purchase so that you can improve other regulators.
First Stage
- Uses the DST first stage
- Unique over-balanced, diaphragm design - as the diver descends, the over-balancing feature allows the medium pressure gas in the hose to increase at a rate faster than ambient. This results in superior performance at depth.
- 2 HP ports and 4 MP ports on a rotating turret are angled for optimum hose routing
- An environmental dry system keeps water out of the main spring chamber thus preventing ice buildup and keeping silt and contamination out.
